CAD-CAM technology used by Dr. Rubio involves visiting him at Dental Rubio Group, his private practice in Los Algodones, Mexico.  Dayo Dental also helps you to arrange your trip and to book your appointment.  Dr. Rubio will carefully examine which of your teeth need to be restored with a crown, bridge or even an inlay for a deep cavity. Once the diagnosis of your case has been made, Dr. Rubio will create a comprehensive treatment plan to restore those teeth.

In order to make a dental restoration using his CAD-CAM technology, Dr. Carlos Rubio will scan your impressions to create a 3D model of your teeth.  Once these 3D images have been captured, the data is transferred to the CAD machine whereby Dr. Rubio’s lab will design your dental restoration with digital precision.

After the final design of your dental restoration has been completed, the CAD machine will transfer the image to the CAM machine where a block of zirconium will be milled to form the exact 3D replica of the dental crown or bridge that has been designed by the lab technicians in the CAM machine. The restoration is milled to perfection, ready to be cemented over your tooth.

Gum Disease Treatment at Rubio Dental Group

Get your gums treated at Rubio Dental Group

What are the different treatment procedures for my gums?

Depending on the nature of the disease and the severity of the symptoms Dr. Carlos Rubio and staff plans a treatment chart for you. At Rubio Dental Group in Los Algodones, Mexico, you can avail mostly two types of treatments for gums-
1.       Non-surgical
2.       Surgical

Non-surgical methods of treating gum disease
These methods do not require any surgery. They are simple yet effective techniques of treating gum inflammation.

  • Dental cleaning or scaling.
When Dr. Cesar, the main periodontist at Rubio Dental Group, evaluates your mouth, he recommends you to go for dental cleaning if there is considerable amount of plaque and tartar stuck on your teeth and gums. With the help of special equipments called ultrasonic scalers, the deposits are removed from your teeth and gums. You will be able to appreciate a fresh feeling once all the dirt is removed from your mouth.

  • Root planing.
As the name suggests, this procedure is focused at the cleaning of the roots of the teeth. So it is a deep-cleaning method. The procedure is carried out under a local anesthetic to avoid discomfort when the instrument tip is penetrated deep in the area between gums and teeth and the root surfaces are cleaned. If there are any rough areas, they are smoothened while polishing so that the rate of deposition reduces and the gums reattach to a clean root surface.

Surgical methods of treating gum Disease

  • Flap surgery
Dr. Cesa Monarrez  suggests this procedure to patients with deep pockets (area between teeth and gums when more than 3mm). The procedure comprises of the following steps-
-          Lifting of gums after administration of a shot of local anesthesia
-          Removal of plaque and tartar.
-          Smoothing of rough edges of protruding bone ends or root surfaces
-          Once the surfaces are cleaned thoroughly the gums are placed back tightly around the teeth.
-          As the surgical wound heals the gums will attach strongly to teeth limiting the area for bacterial proliferation and, hence, limiting the risk of periodontal disease.

  • Bone grafts.
If your jaw bone is not sufficient enough or has undergone disintegration due to any reason, bone grafts can be placed to restore back the original shape. Your own bone, artificial bone tissue or bone tissue from another donor can be used for this purpose. Once Dr. Cesar Monarrez grafts fall in their place, they stimulate the growth of the natural bone tissue.

  • Soft tissue grafts.
Soft tissue grafts are called as gingival grafts which replace the lost or insufficient gum tissue. At Rubio Dental Group, the graft is taken from the palate area and placed in the area of deficiency.

  • Guided tissue regeneration
This is another technique of reinforcing weak bone and gum layers. If put it simply, the procedure involves the placement of a small mesh-like structure in between bone and gums after performing a flap surgery. The mesh stimulates the generation of bone and gum tissue from both the sides, thereby, strengthening the union of the two and filling up the areas of deficiency.
Dr. Cesar decides the type of surgery that is needed for your case on the basis of the findings after your complete examination. Surgery is always performed as the last resort. Most of the times, scaling and root planing are sufficient to cure gum diseases.

If gum disease is too advanced, sometimes multiple extractions are necessary.  Dr. Carlos Rubio can take over to give you options such as the use of permanent teeth supported by dental implants.
